shop.21stcenturyfirearms.com American Tactical Imports brings in a 1911 style pistol in .22LR that’s called the GSG 1911. The GSG 1911 is nearly identical to a standard 1911 in terms of size, weight and function. The GSG 1911 is a well made 1911 style pistol that has some unique features including the ability to add a suppressor. I purchased this pistol through 21st Century Firearms.

@reeseman67 I was thinking the same thing about the ammo there is no reason? that it shouldn’t be 7.62×39 (the AK ammo) it is cheap and there seems to be little difference in the AK and Stg44 magizine profile. Having the rifle use AK mags would make it easier on the buyer and sell a ton of rifles. As far as quality the Stg44 was built during the later part of WW2 when most German industry was bombed to hell. If a modern company can’t meet those standards they should go bankrupt.
@mrtlsimon PTR-91 has one out, they have for like a year or so… STG44… DROOL!!! I’d THINK the PTR made one would PROBABLY be higher quality, BUT where do I go and stock up on 7.92x33mm Kurz?lol.? How about a company come out with one in a cheap chambering, maybe 7.62x25mm in some specialty mag’s that have the look of the STG44 mags, without the PRICE!!!
i just purchased one. I was going to get the kimber but didnt like the no slide hold after the last round….plus this guy Tim has it… means its good.? Thanks boss.
We liked the Sig version of that excact gun so much that we bought two of them. lots of fun, definitely a break in period to them, but they are a blast to shoot, are verry accurate and shooting CCI Mini mags at night is a total blast! Also green and red tracers at night really make the .22 pistol a? whole different critter indeed. I have Walther P22Q, the 1911-.22′s from germany outshoot it drastically so far. If someone loves a 1911, then they deserve to go get one of these German models.
1? mag
what are these 22 folks thinking !
Oh GSG so much potential yet so much disappointment.
I was really looking? forward to their STG 44
Great vid! Just picked up a GSG 1911 today! Can’t wait to get out? and shoot it.
@HolinessWarrior Yep, I have seen CCI go a little crazy on the external lubrication. Never really been a problem for me though. My guns? like them. Good luck getting yours running right.
@GLOCKCOPG23 Ha, impressing your friends lol, I took it shooting with a friend, obviously wanting? to show it off, I bought CCI, and they jammed like four times! I was embarrassed haha. But then I noticed something unusual about those rounds, all .22′s have some sort of wax on them, but these were like caked in it, like the bullets themselves looked like a candle or something. Have you ever experienced this?
@HolinessWarrior I have had the same exact experience, CCI for “importan shit” (like impressing your friends), and Remington “gold” (wally world crap) for everything else. FYI, I had to drift my rear sight a lil bit to the left left to center up my groups at 25 yards.? This bad boy is “ON” now. love my GSG!
Hi, can I use sights from a .45 cal 1911 from Colt, Kimber, Peters Stahl, e.g.? I want to buy that GSG 1911 next year as a sport-shooter and I want to collect as many as? informations about it, because there are other 1911 models from different firms…
Great review. Just got? my GSG 1911 today for my birthday. It looks and feels like a great pistol and I can’t wait to try it out!
I’ve heard you can put a 45 slide and mag? on it so you can shoot 45 out of it is that true
@Bulletinjection CCI ammo worked wonders! As it turns out my GSG just hates Federal. I bought a bulk pack of? Remington ammo and it did great. One or two jams but nothing big. CCI was flawless and very powerful. So then I tried the federal again and it did nothing but jam! So no more Federal for me
Love the gun by the way. GSG gets 10 of 10!
Oh, and thanks for the reply, brother.
@HolinessWarrior You will have problems like this with new guns. Once you break it in? and of course clean it, the gun should cycle just fine. CCI ammo should have helped.
@Sturmgewehre? Now that’s what I call fast service… Haha okay thanks!
I’ll try the CCI and see what happens. Thanks again for the videos! God bless.
@HolinessWarrior I would definitely? try different ammo. I’ve found that my GSG 1911 can be a bit picky about the ammo. It has a large slide and needs some hotter ammo to reliably function. The only problems I had is with the suppressor and some brands of subsonic ammo. Other than that, my GSG 1911 runs fine.
Dear sir, I just? picked up my GSG yesterday and was pumped! It looks and feels awesome. But I took it to the range and found myself pounding my fist in aggravation! Lol. I had multiple failures to feed, failures to eject, misfires, etc. To the point where it took all the fun out of shooting it. I was using 1260 fps Federal ammunition. So I cleaned and oiled it real good and picked up some CCI ammo. But I’m not sure that’ll help enough. Any advice for me?
Thanks so? much for the review, man! Awesome job! Getting mine tomorrow!
Great? review! I went to the gun store innocently enough yesterday to browse around, but before leaving the owner had convinced me to put one of these GSG 1911′s on layaway. Sounds like a great practice gun, though I’ve read about a lot of problems with pot-metal parts breaking when they first came out last year. Supposedly this has all been fixed by the company, have you had any trouble with parts breaking on yours?
@09166410632
CA legal ones are now for sale, in fact,? TURNERS has em for $319 , but it OOS for now.
Just picked one up, looks good so far, haven’t fired it yet.
I don’t think the frame is steel,? try putting a magnet to it.
@09166410632 yes I think?
@TACTICALCHICKENSTRIP
Yes if amby compatible?
Yes if you use high velocity
and no, steel
Have you had any problems getting the threaded barrel cap off, I got my GSG a little bit ago and just now tried to get it off and am having trouble. Only wandering because you took yours off so? easily.
